Maureen Wiese

Maureen graduated from Christopher Newport University in 1991 with a bachelor’s degree in Education. She has lived in Hampton Roads since 1986; since Hampton Roads Tours was founded in 2018, Maureen has been researching the events that made the United States possible and connecting visitors with their past.

J. Michael Moore

Historian/Tour Guide

J. Michael Moore received a BA in History from Christopher Newport University and an MA in History from Old Dominion University. For twenty years, he has led battlefield tours in Maryland, North Carolina, West Virginia, and Virginia. Moore has co-authored two books, including Yorktown’s Civil War Siege: Drums Along the Warwick in 2012, and been published in many scholarly journals. Michael is known as one of Yorktown’s most prominent historians. He is a native of Newport News and lives in Historic Yorktown.
